How Long Does Frozen Poultry Stay Fresh In Poultry Shrink Bags?
I got an e-mail from someone asking how long frozen chickens will stay good in our poultry shrink bags. It's a good question.
One thing is for sure, and that is that poultry in shrink bags will not suffer from freezer burn like it will in loose bags. Less air inside the packaging, and a much tighter seal with our shrink bags, translates into the best possible keeping time. It's just a shame to package high-quality poultry in anything less than a shrink bag.
That said, it's hard to answer exactly how long the meat will remain good (or "fresh") in these amazing bags. As excellent as our shrinkbags are, I'm sure they will not preserve the meat indefinitely.
What I can say with confidence is that we are currently using shrink bagged chicken meat that we put in the freezer 18 months ago, and my wife says it is just fine. There is no freezer burn, and no loss of quality when cooking the chicken. For my part, I can say there is no discernible loss of quality or flavor in the meat when I eat it.
So, suffice it to say, the poultry shrink bags we sell offer superior protection for your processed birds. You won't be disappointed in this packaging option. There really is none better.
